Dodgers Dump Astros, 5-1
|
The Los Angeles Dodgers topped the Houston Astros, 5-1, in National League action at Minute Maid Park. The game was highlighted by the performance of Los Angeles catcher Ron Ascencio. Reliever Sean McNees picked up the win. His record improves to 4-7. Jon Daugherty took the loss. The loss makes Houston 27-22.
Tim Cooke, the 31-year old first baseman , had a direct impact on the outcome. Cooke contributed a run-scoring ground out in the top of the first inning to put Los Angeles up, 1-0.
