Tigers Earn Late 3-2 Win
|
The Detroit Tigers had to weather a strong performance from Seattle pitcher Tommy Houston before claiming a 3-2 win in 10 innings. Houston went 6.1 innings and allowed no runs. Detroit reliever Scott Duree was the winner. His record is now 2-5. The losing pitcher was Ryan Snyder. Detroit, now 22-25, holds down 4th place in the American League Central Division.
The game-ending blow was delivered by Jon Everett in the bottom of the tenth. That's when he hit a run-scoring double off 25-year old right-handed pitcher Ryan Snyder to win it for Detroit and cause the home crowd to erupt in celebration.
"We were determined to pick up this win," said Everett.
