Ventura Lifts Royals to 6-3 Win
Kansas City took on Texas in front of a lively crowd.

Getting offensive support from Antonio Ventura, the Kansas City Royals topped the Texas Rangers, 6-3. Ventura went 2-3 with 2 home runs and a walk, while adding 3 RBI and scoring twice for the Royals. The winning pitcher was two-time All-Star Hugo Coates. He tossed 103 pitches over 7 innings, allowing 3 runs on 10 hits.

Kyle Diaz had a big 2-run double for the Royals in the bottom of the third inning. With Kansas City trailing 2-1 and runners on 1st and 2nd, he got a forkball from 25-year old right-handed pitcher Steve Gbur and swatted a double to right. It was his 4th double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Royals ahead, 3-2.

Diaz called the win "what playing unselfish baseball looks like."
