Lewis Swings Cardinals to 7-5 Win
|
St. Louis first baseman Phil Lewis made his presence felt in the 7-5 Cardinals triumph over the Cincinnati Reds. Lewis went 2-4 with 2 home runs and a walk, while scoring 3 runs and driving in 3. The winning pitcher was Chris Fama. His record now stands at 6-3. The right-hander went 7 innings, allowing 4 runs on 8 hits for the Cardinals. Bill Robinson collected save number 1.
In the first inning, Lewis had a 2-run home run for St. Louis. It was his 9th home run of the season and put the Cardinals on top, 3-0.
"Chalk one up for the good guys," said Lewis. "I'm sure our fans enjoyed that win."
St. Louis is now 27-21. Cincinnati is 31-18.
