Late Offense Lifts Boston to 4-3 Victory
Cameron Goudy was a major factor in the 4-3 Boston win over Houston. The Red Sox first baseman was 2 for 4 with a triple and a walk. He drove in 2 runs. Robbie Castro recorded his 8th save for Boston. By defeating Houston, the third-place Red Sox improved to 24-27.

Who knows how it would've ended, had it not been for Phil Sproston? The 27-year old center fielder Sproston stroked a 2-run single in the top of the eighth inning to put Boston up, 4-3. For the game, he was 2 for 5, including 1 double and 1 single.

"Cameron leaves the last at-bat behind him, whether it was good or bad, and goes up there and competes on every pitch," said Boston manager Chris Gasparro.
