The Boston Red Sox defeated the Houston Astros, 5-1, in American League action at Minute Maid Park. Boston pitcher Eric Huffman had a standout performance. The Red Sox are now 21-30, while the Astros fall to 30-19.

Boston used the clutch hitting of Mike Travis to snag the win. The designated hitter drilled a 3-run home run in the top of the seventh inning to put the Red Sox ahead, 5-1. It was his lone hit in 5 at-bats, but it was a crucial one.

"Eric was in tempo tonight," said Boston skipper Michael Meagher.
