Washington Picks Up Another L
|
Sean McNees pitched a gem to lead New York to victory over the Washington Nationals, 8-0. The winner was McNees. He threw 6.1 innings of shutout ball. The loser was Erik McFadden. Washington is in the throes of a long losing streak, which is now 9 games.
New York got a big at-bat from Bristol, Tennessee native Tom Ferrell, who in the bottom of the fourth hit a grand slam home run. It was his 4th home run of the season and put the Mets ahead, 8-0.
"I thought we were prepared," Washington manager Doug Graff said after the game. "I thought we'd be more competitive out there."
