The performance of Darwin Corrick proved critical in helping Tampa Bay beat Arizona, 5-3. The Rays first baseman was 3 for 5 with a home run and 2 singles, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. Tim Berigan nailed down his 11th save. At 24-27, the Rays are currently third in the American League East Division.
With Tampa Bay leading 4-3 in the top of the eighth, Corrick hit a run-scoring single off Arizona hurler Eric Patterson. It was the 56th hit of the season for Corrick and put his team ahead, 5-3.
