Washington Defeated By Mets, 5-3
|
The New York Mets downed the Washington Nationals, 5-3, at Citi Field. Ricardo Duran led the way, going 3-for-4 for New York. Seth Schubert was the winner. He's now 3-2. The loser was Jason Elkins. The last-place Mets bumped their record to 18-31.
With New York leading 1-0 in the bottom of the first, Duran hit a 2-run single off Washington hurler Jason Elkins. It was the 27th hit of the season for Duran and put his team ahead, 3-0.
