Nationals Trip Twins, 6-3, in Extra Innings
|
The Washington Nationals clipped the Minnesota Twins, 6-3, in 18 innings at Target Field. The standout performance belonged to Washington pitcher and Rochester, Minnesota, native Brandon Dobeck. The winner was Jamie Wilson in relief. His record improves to 1-6. Mike Lawson took the loss. Tim Brown was called on to finish, recording his 1st save.
Who knows how it would've ended, had it not been for Darric Kane? The former first round draft pick Kane stroked a 2-run single in the top of the 18th inning to put Washington up, 5-3. For the game, he was 3 for 6, including 1 double and 2 singles.
"Feels good to be on the winning side," said Dobeck.
The win puts Washington at 21-32.
