Widby Helps Twins Beat Mets, 8-0
The Minnesota Twins powered past the New York Mets, 8-0, at Target Field. Bill Widby went 3-4 with a home run and 2 singles, while scoring 3 and driving in 2, to lead the charge. Orlando Basurto earned the win for Minnesota. He lasted 6.2 innings, allowing no runs on 5 hits, while striking out 10. With the win, he raised his record to 4-1. The Twins now have a record of 28-23.

The Twins got a big at-bat from left fielder Joe Looby. For the game, Looby went 2 for 4 with 2 home runs, while adding 3 RBI and scoring twice. In the bottom of the second, with a runner on 1st, he stroked a 2-run home run. His 9th home run of the season gave Minnesota a 2-0 lead.
