Reds Win Again, Streak Now at 13
|
The Cincinnati Reds stopped the San Francisco Giants, 5-3, behind an impressive performance from Jesus Najera. The slugging left fielder made life miserable for San Francisco pitching. He went 1-3 with a home run and a walk, while scoring 2 times and driving in 3. Cincinnati reliever Mike Lewis picked up the win to move to 6-2. Andy Cote suffered the loss. The winning continues for Cincinnati, with the latest making it 13 straight.
Najera had a key at-bat for Cincinnati early in the game. With runners on 1st and 2nd, he hit a 3-run home run. It was his 9th home run of the season and gave Cincinnati an early 3-0 lead.
"We're playing like gangbusters right now," said Najera.
