Down Goes Oakland, 6-3, to Toronto
|
Blue Jays third baseman Hector Amador put his stamp on his team's 6-3 win over the Oakland Athletics. Amador went 3-4 with a home run and 2 singles. He drove in 3 runs and scored once for Toronto in the contest. Alex Bartolo, who went 6.2 innings, was the winning pitcher. He was charged with 2 runs on 9 hits, while walking 1 and striking out 3. His record now stands at 2-2. The Blue Jays saw their record improve to 28-22.
Toronto won the game in part because of Joe Reese. The second baseman ripped a solo home run in the top of the sixth inning to put the Blue Jays ahead, 3-1. For the game, Reese had 1 double and 1 home run in 5 at-bats.
"I like our moxie," said Blue Jays manager Rodney Smith.
