Yankees Stumble, Lose to Mariners
|
The Seattle Mariners dumped the New York Yankees, 10-4, in large part due to first baseman John Brownfield. On the day, Brownfield went 2-4 with a home run, a triple, and a walk, while scoring 3 for the Mariners. Seattle reliever Kevin Riffel got the win, raising his record to 6-1. Eddy Alvarez was tagged with the loss. Seattle bumps their record to 31-21 with the win.
With two out in the top of the fourth, Keith Bundy put Seattle in front, 6-4, with a 2-run single. The Mariners went on to win the ballgame.
"We swung the bats good throughout the lineup," said Seattle skipper Jamie Clark.
