The Cincinnati Reds picked up a win at Great American Ball Park, downing the St. Louis Cardinals, 6-4. On the mound for Cincinnati was left-hander Kyle Gruhlke, who played a pivotal role in the win. Gruhlke got the win, improving to 5-1. He gave up 3 hits and walked 4 over 6 innings. He allowed 2 runs. The win for the Reds lifted their record to 33-19.

First Baseman Hideyuki Takahashi made an impact for Cincinnati, when he swatted a 2-run double off David Herrera in the bottom of the third. For the contest, Takahashi was 3 for 4 with a double and 2 singles. He drove in 2 runs and scored once.
