With right fielder Zachary Anderson leading the charge, the Washington Nationals defeated the Cleveland Guardians, 11-4, at Progressive Field. Anderson was 3-5 with a home run and 2 singles. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. The second-place Nationals now have a win-loss record of 31-23.

With Washington leading 8-4 in the top of the sixth, Anderson came up to bat against Cleveland pitcher Raul Novoa. Anderson hit a fastball to center for a 3-run home run. His 3rd home run of the season put the Nationals on top, 11-4.

"It was great to come out and swing the bats," Anderson told the Washington Observer.
