Reese Leads White Sox to 10-9 Win Over Guardians
|
The Chicago White Sox powered past the Cleveland Guardians, 10-9, at U.S. Cellular Field. Joe Reese provided some of the pop. Money went 2 for 3 with a home run, a double, and 2 walks. He scored 2 runs and drove in 3. Chicago reliever Wayne McQuillan snagged the win, upping his record to 3-1. Andy Washburn shouldered the loss. Ryan Kelly sewed up the save, his 2nd.
With Chicago leading 7-3 in the bottom of the fourth, Reese came up to bat against Cleveland pitcher Jacob Magaw. Reese hit a sinker to left for a 3-run home run. His 12th home run of the season put the White Sox on top, 10-3.
"We ground out the win," said Reese. "That's all that matters."
The White Sox have an impressive 35-18 record.
