Astros Take 10-2 Pounding
The Houston Astros took it on the chin, losing 10-2 to the Chicago Cubs. John Ross, who is tied for 8th in the NL with a 3.00 ERA, pitched a strong game for Chicago. Ross, now 6-2, was the winner. In 7.2 innings, he gave up 6 hits, while striking out 7, walking 2, and allowing 1 run. The second-place Cubs raised their record to 31-22.

The Cubs got a big hit from right fielder Kevin Luzzo. In the bottom of the sixth, Luzzo pounded a grand slam home run to right-center. His 10th home run of the season put the Cubs ahead, 9-0.

"I found a nice groove out there," said Ross.
