No one was more impactful than Joe Looby in the 8-2 Minnesota win over New York. Looby, who is on pace for 83 RBI this season, went 2 for 2 with a home run and 2 walks, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 2. Russell Cottrell picked up the win, improving his season record to 2-4. He struck out 10 in 6.2 innings. The Twins go to 30-23, putting them second in the American League Central Division.

The Twins got an important contribution from designated hitter Bill Widby, who in the bottom of the first punched a 2-2 splitter into center for a 2-run double. It was his 10th double of the season and put the Twins ahead, 3-0.
