Villarreal Delivers Walk-Off Win for Pirates
The Arizona Diamondbacks could not turn a fine performance from pitcher Michael Watson into a win. Instead, the Pittsburgh Pirates prevailed, 4-3, in 14 innings. Watson threw 7.1 innings of shutout ball. Pittsburgh bumps their record to 34-19 with the win.

The decisive blow was delivered by Kurt Villarreal in the bottom of the 14th when he hit a solo home run off 28-year old right-handed pitcher John Baines to win the game for Pittsburgh. The home crowd went nuts.

"If you want to be considered a good team, these are the kind of games you have to win," said Pittsburgh manager Merlyn Evans.
