Led by 22-year-old Chris McCobb, the San Francisco (Rk+) Giants knocked off the Johnson City Cardinals, 6-5. McCobb went 3 for 4 with a home run and 2 singles for the Giants. The win went to Randy Stoddard in relief. His record improves to 1-2. John Sherman took the loss. Sam Rollins, summoned from the bullpen, notched his 2nd save.
Austin Clouser chipped in for San Francisco (Rk+), stroking a crucial run-scoring single in the bottom of the seventh inning. For the game, the left fielder was 1 for 4.
"My job is to go out and play as hard as I can for the Giants," said McCobb.
San Francisco (Rk+)'s record now stands at 21-30, placing them 4th in the East.
