Royals Post 3-1 Win
|
The bats were silent much of the day at Burlington Athletic Stadium. But 22-year old catcher Josh McElwain produced just enough offense to carry the Royals past the Elizabethton Twins, 3-1. McElwain was 1 for 2 with a home run and 2 walks, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. Arturo Vidal nailed down the save. With the win, Burlington has a record of 25-28. Elizabethton falls to 32-21.
In the bottom of the third, McElwain had a 2-run home run for Burlington. It was his 6th home run of the season and put the Royals on top, 3-1.
"We've got guys willing to do what it takes to win," McElwain told the Burlington Times.
