Blue Jays Handle Mets, Grab 5-3 Win
The Bluefield Blue Jays knocked off the Kingsport Mets, 5-3, in Appalachian League action at Bowen Field. Bluefield pitcher and Kennebunk, Maine, native Alex Cordova had an outstanding performance. Willie Santiago earned the save for Bluefield, his 1st. With the victory, the Blue Jays record stands at 25-27.

In the bottom of the fourth, Bluefield center fielder Bobby Craven had a productive at-bat. With the bases loaded and two out, Craven stroked a 2-run single to center. It made the score 4-1, Bluefield. For the game, he was 2-5 with 2 singles. He drove in 3 runs.
