Cardinals Sneak Past Braves, 2-1
|
Johnson City Cardinals starter Jeremy Cryan turned in a top-notch performance against the Danville Braves at American Legion Field. The result was a win for the Cardinals, 2-1. The 6th-place Cardinals lifted their record to 17-35.
Matt Burton provided a timely hit. The Johnson City third baseman delivered a 2-run triple in the top of the ninth inning to put the Cardinals on top, 2-1. It was his only hit in the game, but he made it count.
"If you pitch well, you give yourself some opportunities," said Johnson City manager Mitch Williams.
