Blue Jays Keep Losing, Drop 12-8 Contest to Kingsport
The performance of Sean Simmons proved critical in helping Kingsport beat Bluefield, 12-8. The Mets second baseman went 3 for 3 with a double, 2 singles, and 2 walks. He scored 3 times. Justin Meyer snagged the win in relief. He goes to 1-0 on the season. Joshua Cabiles suffered the loss. The Mets improved their record to 33-21 with the win over Bluefield.

In the top of the third, Kingsport shortstop John Stinson had a run-producing at-bat. Facing Bluefield hurler Chris Bush, Stinson got hit by a pitch, driving in 1 run. That made the score 3-0, Kingsport. For the day, Stinson drove in one run.

"If you were looking for a pitchers' duel," said Simmons, "this wasn't it."
