Atlanta Tags Washington with 7-1 Defeat
|
Starting pitcher Chris Hall fulfilled his part of the bargain, helping the Atlanta Braves stymie the Washington Nationals, 7-1. Today's win puts Atlanta at 31-25, while Washington falls to 21-35.
Atlanta used the hitting of Jimmy Powell to pick up the win. The designated hitter clubbed a 3-run home run in the top of the fifth inning to put the Braves on top, 5-1. For the game, Powell had 1 home run and 1 single in 5 at-bats.
"I was just taking it batter by batter, just enjoying the moment," said Hall.
