The 3-RBI night of third baseman Chris Strickland, who finished 4th in the NL in RBI with 117 in 2106, helped the Las Vegas Hustle triumph, 8-2, over the San Diego Padres. Las Vegas pitcher Mike Singleton got the win, upping his record to 3-3. Vinny Herrick got the loss. Las Vegas, at 31-24, holds down second place in the National League West Division.

Bryan Tillman had a big solo home run for the Hustle in the bottom of the fifth inning. With Las Vegas leading 3-2 and the bases empty, he sized up a fastball from Jamie Hamel, who is tied for 8th in the NL in strikeouts with 79, and punished it. The result was his 8th home run of the season, which put the Hustle on top, 4-2.

"Today was a lot of fun," said Strickland.
