Blue Jays Earn 4-3 Road Win Over Cleveland
|
The Blue Jays grabbed a win, 4-3, at Progressive Field, overcoming a fine effort from Cleveland pitcher Nick Wise. Wise went 7.1 innings and allowed 4 runs. Jay Courtney earned his 10th save, after closing out the game. Toronto is second in the American League East Division with a record of 28-26.
Who knows how it would've ended, had it not been for Mike Beiriger? The two-time All-Star Beiriger stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the eighth inning to put Toronto up, 4-2. For the game, he was 3 for 4, including 1 double and 2 singles.
"This was a good win," said Beiriger.
