Steinhart Clouts 2 Homers in 5-0 Cleveland Win
|
The Cleveland Guardians defeated the Texas Rangers, 5-0. Third Baseman Dave Steinhart deserved a large share of the credit. Steinhart hit 2 home runs. He drove in 4 runs and scored twice for the Guardians. Bobby Quinn got credit for the win, improving to 2-4. He allowed no runs on 5 hits in 7 innings. The Guardians raised their record to 20-34.
Cleveland took a 4-0 lead on Steinhart's 9th home run of the season. The 3-run home run, which he hit off Willie Perez in the bottom of the seventh, propelled Cleveland to the win.
"Dave showed up tonight," said Cleveland manager Danny Jaime.
