Rangers Rebuff Tigers, 4-3
|
The Texas Rangers reigned over the Detroit Tigers in damp conditions.
The Texas Rangers did just enough to sneak past the Detroit Tigers, 4-3, at Globe Life Park in Arlington. Texas pitcher Pat Yarnall, in particular, had a standout performance. Texas reliever Joe Jafar was the winner. His record is now 2-1. Justin Frantz took the loss. Montes Galli earned the save for Texas, his 1st.
Texas second baseman Justin Kerby contributed a timely at-bat in the bottom of the sixth. With two down, he hit a fastball to center field for a 2-run single. It was his 56th hit of the season and put the Rangers ahead, 4-2.
"I can't say enough about Pat," said Texas manager Stephen Gesualdi. "He stepped up when we needed him."
Texas now sports a record of 28-28.
