The Kingsport Mets weathered an outstanding game by Danville right fielder Ron Brito to topple the Braves, 7-6. Brito went 3-5 with 3 singles. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. Kingsport now has a record of 29-23 with the win.

The Mets took the lead in the top of the fourth when John Strauss banged a two-out single. Kingsport had been trailing 2-1, but Strauss hit a 1-2 knuckle curve from Sean Bartelme for a 2-run single.

"Winning is the only objective," said Strauss after the game.
