The Johnson City Cardinals picked up a win at Hunter Wright Stadium, topping the Kingsport Mets, 3-0. On the mound for Johnson City was right-hander Ricky Fifield. He played a principal role in the triumph. Matt Spiess, who leads the APP in saves with 13, earned the save for Johnson City. Johnson City now owns a record of 35-16.

Fifield picked up the win. He's now 7-2, after putting the Kingsport offense in the deep freeze. Over 8.2 innings, he allowed no earned runs on 2 hits.
