Steve Boothby had a strong outing for the Las Vegas Hustle against the Washington Nationals at Las Vegas Ballpark. The left-hander was a big part of his team's 6-2 win. Getting the save was Tim Demaree, his 1st. The second-place Hustle hiked their record to 30-26.

The Nationals had been locked in a 1-1 tie with the Hustle going into the bottom of the fourth inning. That changed quickly when the slugging second baseman Colin Bridgens came to the plate. Bridgens hit a 2-run home run on a 0-2 sinker from Washington hurler Nick Palmer. It was Bridgens's 10th home run of the year.

"Getting ahead of the hitters was the key," said Boothby.
