The Johnson City Cardinals did just enough to sneak past the Bluefield Blue Jays, 7-6, at Howard Johnson Field. Johnson City pitcher Nate Dickel, in particular, had a standout performance. Steve Harrison was the winner in relief. His record is now 4-2. The losing pitcher was Jon Aragon. At 42-14, the Cardinals are currently first in the West.

Andres Jimenez aided the Johnson City cause with a run-scoring walk in the bottom of the sixth. For the game, the pinch hitter drew 1 walk.

"Good win for us," said Dickel. "Now we'll focus on the next one."
