The Johnson City Cardinals and Bluefield Blue Jays completed their game despite the rain.

Bluefield left fielder Nelson Falcon had a good game, even if his team did not. The Blue Jays dropped a 6-3 decision to Johnson City at Bowen Field. Falcon was 2 for 4 with a double, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. Picking up his 2nd save was 18-year old left-handed pitcher Alex Mitchell.

Johnson City used a clutch at-bat from Pedro Vertiz to capture the win. The third baseman hammered a 2-run home run in the top of the fifth inning to put the Cardinals ahead, 3-0. It was his lone hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a humdinger.

Said Johnson City manager Francisco Zamarripa: "We squared some balls up."

Bluefield has now lost 4 consecutive games.
