Bobby Lopez pitched a near no-hitter in leading Kingsport to a 4-0 triumph over the Boston (Rk+) Red Sox. The first-place Mets go to 42-15.

Lopez subdued the Boston (Rk+) offense. The Kingsport left-hander allowed a mere 1 hit over 8 innings, while fanning 10. His season record goes to 5-1 with the win.

In comments to the Kingsport Daily News, Lopez insisted that he's not as disinterested as it often appears. "Haters will hate," he added.
