Thrilling Victory Pushes Giants Win Streak to 5
|
The game between San Francisco (Rk+) and Bluefield is in the books, despite a little rain.
The San Francisco (Rk+) Giants beat the Bluefield Blue Jays, 3-1, at Bowen Field. Starting pitcher Rafael Garibay was a big reason why. He held his opponent in check all game. The win belonged to Yhency Roman in relief. His record improves to 1-0. Antonio Olivares took the loss for Bluefield.
Who knows how it would've ended, had it not been for Brian Danish? The 24-year old first baseman Danish stroked a run-scoring double in the top of the eighth inning to put San Francisco (Rk+) up, 2-1. For the game, he was 2 for 4, including 1 double and 1 single.
"I thought Rafael threw the ball well across the board," said San Francisco (Rk+) manager Chris Aversa.
The Giants have a winning streak of 5 games.
