Victory Over Giants Takes Burlington to 43-17
|
Burlington starter Netuno Sarenha pitched well against the San Francisco (Rk+) Giants at Burlington Athletic Stadium. The right-hander led his team to a win, 8-5. By defeating San Francisco (Rk+), the first-place Royals improved to 43-17.
Scott Eldredge had a big 3-run home run for the Royals in the bottom of the first inning. With Burlington trailing 4-3 and runners on 1st and 3rd, he sized up a fastball from Jose Fabian, who is tied for 2nd in the APP with a 10.5 K/9 rate, and punished it. The result was his 3rd home run of the season, which put the Royals on top, 6-4.
"Netuno is tough when he's hitting his spots," said Burlington manager Jim Vickery.
