The Bluefield Blue Jays downed the Burlington Royals, 5-1, at Burlington Athletic Stadium. Carlos Reyes led the way, going 2-for-3 for Bluefield. Picking up the win was Hal Lee. He went 5.1 innings, allowing 1 run on 4 hits. The right--hander struck out 1 and walked 5. At 34-28, the Blue Jays claim third place in the East.
Bluefield took a 4-1 lead on Reyes's 5th double of the season. The 2-run double, which he hit off Cesar Cartagera in the top of the sixth, propelled Bluefield to the win.
Reyes called the win "a team effort."
