The Bluefield Blue Jays withstood a fine game by Greeneville right fielder Josh Martin at Pioneer Park, to upend the Astros, 4-3. Martin was 2 for 5 with a home run and a triple. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. Cody Reynolds closed out the game, earning his 1st save. The Blue Jays, at 35-28, sit in third place in the East.

Bob Templeton had a direct impact on the outcome. Templeton contributed a 2-run single in the top of the first inning to put Bluefield up, 3-0.

In comments to the Bluefield Gazette, Templeton admitted he's been told to improve his work habits. "But," he said, "I know when to take it to another gear."
