Burlington Stymied by Dickel
|
In a seemingly effortless performance, Nate Dickel of the Johnson City Cardinals shot down the Burlington Royals, 2-0, on 5 hits.
"Nate was just locating so well and using his pitches," Johnson City manager Manny Chavez said later. "He wasn't leaving anything over the plate."
Dickel recorded 4 strikeouts and 4 walks in a strong outing.
"When he needed to make pitches, he elevated his game," Burlington manager Jim Vickery said in postgame comments to BNN. "We couldn't get a key hit off him."
In 12 starts this season, Dickel has notched a 7-2 record and a 1.89 ERA.
