Orioles 8-6 Victors Over Greeneville
|
The Baltimore (Rk+) Orioles beat the Greeneville Astros, 8-6, at Ballpark of Pearl River. The Orioles got a fine performance from right fielder Daniel Hauer, who was 2-4 with a triple, a double, and was hit by a pitch. He drove in 4 runs and scored once. Josh Woods, the winner, improved to 9-6. He held the Astros to 4 runs on 6 hits over 5 innings, while striking out 7 and walking 2. Jim Unknown closed the game out for Baltimore (Rk+), earning his 1st save.
Hauer contributed a big hit, a bases-clearing triple, for Baltimore (Rk+) in the bottom of the third. With his team trailing 2-1, Hauer took a fastball from Luis Cueto and stroked the triple to right. His 2nd triple of the season allowed the Orioles to leap in front, 4-2.
"We got the victory," said Hauer. "That's all that matters at the end of the day."
Baltimore (Rk+) raised its record to 32-30 with the win.
