White Sox Topple Yankees, 10-5, as Hodges Shines
|
Chicago second baseman Chris Hodges contributed to his team's 10-5 win over the New York Yankees. Hodges, who is on pace for 69 RBI this season, went 2 for 4 with 2 runs scored to lead the offensive attack for the White Sox. The winner was Chicago reliever Jeffrey Baker, now 1-0. The loser was Eddy Alvarez. Chicago, at 33-26, holds down second place in the American League Central Division.
Chicago took a 7-5 lead on Dan Roos's 19th home run of the season. The 3-run home run, which Roos hit in the bottom of the eighth, left New York pitcher Eddy Alvarez visibly frustrated.
Roos told a Chicago News reporter that he was "very satisfied" with the win.
