Orioles Need Extra Frames to Get Past Giants
|
The Baltimore (Rk+) Orioles downed the San Francisco (Rk+) Giants, 9-7, in 10 innings. Danny Phillips led the way, going 2-for-3 for Baltimore (Rk+). Baltimore (Rk+) reliever Miguel Urquidi picked up the win to move to 1-0. Mario Paz suffered the loss. Baltimore (Rk+) is now 26-39.
The game came to a dramatic end. In the bottom of the tenth, with Baltimore (Rk+) trailing 7-5, Phillips hit a fastball from Mario Paz for a grand slam home run, giving the Orioles the walk-off win.
"It's a thrill to get that kind of win," Phillips said.
