Royals Come Back Late to Clip Twins
|
The Burlington Royals handed the Elizabethton Twins a loss at Joe O'Brien Field. The final score was 5-4. Steve Ramos was one of the major contributors for Burlington. In addition to his 1 single and 1 home run, he scored 2 runs and drove in 1. At 50-16, the Royals claim first place in the East.
Burlington used a timely hit from Josh Washington to get the win. The third baseman stroked a run-scoring double in the top of the ninth inning to put the Royals ahead, 5-4. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it made an impact.
"I still think this team can play even better," Washington told the Burlington Daily.
