Giants Lose Versus Bluefield, 2-1
|
The Blue Jays faced a stiff challenge from San Francisco (Rk+) pitcher Tim King, but persevered to claim a win at Bowen Field. The final score was 2-1. King went 6 innings and allowed 2 runs. Yvain Natta closed it out for Bluefield, earning his 8th save. The Blue Jays move to 28-35 with the win, while the Giants drop to 31-33.
Mario Silva drove in one run for Bluefield. The 21-year old center fielder had a key at-bat in the bottom of the seventh. With one out and a runner on 3rd, he broke a 1-1 tie with a run-scoring sacrifice fly off Sam Rollins. It was his 13th RBI of the season.
"Our pitching was the difference tonight," Silva said.
