The inspired effort of Princeton shortstop David Rivera was not enough to prevent a loss, 4-2, to the Bluefield Blue Jays. Rivera was 2-3 with a home run and a walk. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. Juan Delgado earned the win after being called from the bullpen. The right-hander allowed no runs on 2 hits in 3.2 innings. He upped his record to 9-0. Carlos Rodriguez was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 4 of 4 save opportunities.

Jake Boyce hit a run-scoring triple off Chris Mlnarik in the bottom of the sixth, which put the Blue Jays in front, 3-2. Boyce had 1 single, in addition to the triple. For the game, he went 2 for 4.

After the game, Bluefield manager Chris Jeffreys applauded the team's effort. "They busted their humps out there," he said.

The victory gives the Blue Jays a record of 35-28.
