Braves Top Giants to Even Record
|
The home crowd had a good time watching the San Francisco (Rk+) Giants and Danville Braves get after it.
The Danville Braves beat the San Francisco (Rk+) Giants, 9-4, at American Legion Field. The Braves got a fine performance from right fielder Victor Ortiz, who was 1-4 with a home run and a walk, while scoring 2 and driving in 3. The Braves raised their record to 32-32.
Caspar Boniface had a big bases-clearing triple for the Braves in the bottom of the second inning. With Danville leading 3-2 and the bases loaded, he got a changeup from Jordan Ramos, who is tied for 3rd in the APP in wins with 7, and swatted a triple to left-center. It was his 2nd triple of the season, and more importantly, it put the Braves ahead, 6-2.
"We're trying to go out there and win games," Ortiz told the Danville Herald, "and we played pretty well tonight."
