Giants Defeat Rays in 10
|
The San Francisco (Rk+) Giants beat the Princeton Rays, 9-3, in 10 innings at H.P. Hunnicutt Field. San Francisco (Rk+) shortstop Alex Perez had an outstanding performance. He was 2 for 5 with a home run and a triple. He drove in 4 runs and scored once. San Francisco (Rk+) occupies third place in the East at 35-30.
With San Francisco (Rk+) leading 5-3 in the top of the tenth, Perez hit a curveball from Cory Rasmussen for a grand slam home run. It was his 8th home run of the season and put the Giants ahead, 9-3.
"Being able to play a game for a living is one thing. Being able to play it well and contribute to a win is even better," Perez told the San Francisco (Rk+) Herald.
