Rays Lose Late to Blue Jays
|
The Bluefield Blue Jays cut down the Princeton Rays by the score of 6-5, with the largest share of the credit going to second baseman George Strauss. Strauss went 2-4 with a double and a walk, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once for the Blue Jays. Bluefield pitcher Alex Lopez earned the win, hiking his record to 2-2. Ken Brusky suffered the loss. The 6th-place Blue Jays hiked their record to 26-41.
The clutch at-bat in the bottom of the ninth belonged to Strauss. Facing Ken Brusky with the bases loaded, the Bluefield second baseman had a run-scoring walk. Game over, walk-off style!
