New York beat Texas on the strength of starting pitcher Austin Stutzman's fine effort. The right-hander led his team to a win, 3-1. The Yankees improved to 37-21.

Willie Serrano had a big run-scoring double for the Yankees in the top of the fourth inning. With New York leading 1-0 and a runner on 1st, he got a fastball from Pat Yarnall, who is tied for 4th in the AL with a 1.03 WHIP, and swatted a double to right-center. It was his 7th double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Yankees ahead, 2-0.

"Well, it's always frustrating to lose," said Texas manager Stephen Gesualdi.
