Narrow Win Takes Johnson City Streak to 11
|
Johnson City starter Trent Berry pitched well against the Baltimore (Rk+) Orioles at Howard Johnson Field. The right-hander led his team to a win, 6-5, in 10 innings. The 52-14 Cardinals have won 11 games in a row.
The defining moment came in the bottom of the tenth for Johnson City. That's when Steve Dobbs hit a 2-run double off 21-year old left-handed pitcher Orlando Puerias to win the game. The home crowd went wild.
"I like the groove we're in," said Dobbs.
