Blue Jays Go Down to Defeat, 4-0
|
San Francisco (Rk+) pitcher Warren Renna had a large part in his team subduing the Bluefield Blue Jays, 4-0. The opposition could never mount much of a rally against the right-hander. Renna picked up the win for San Francisco (Rk+), going 5.2 innings. He gave up no runs on 2 hits. He now sports a record of 2-4. San Francisco (Rk+), at 36-32, holds down third place in the East.
Jake Sollecito had a big 2-run home run for the Giants in the bottom of the second inning. With San Francisco (Rk+) leading 1-0 and a runner on 2nd, he got a fastball from Brian Schaller, who is tied for 4th in the APP with a 9.9 K/9 rate, and swatted a home run to left-center. It was his 4th home run of the season, and more importantly, it put the Giants ahead, 3-0.
"We can always improve and get better, but we're feeling confident after that win," said Renna.
