Burlington center fielder Victor Suris had a terrific game, but it still wasn't enough to get his team a win. Suris was 2 for 4 with a home run. He drove in 3 runs and scored once, even as San Francisco (Rk+) beat the Royals, 5-4. San Francisco (Rk+) currently is in second place in the East at 34-35.

San Francisco (Rk+) shortstop Chris McCobb contributed a timely at-bat in the bottom of the sixth. With two down, he hit a splitter to right-center field for a run-scoring single. It was his 49th hit of the season and put the Giants ahead, 5-1.

"We believe in ourselves and we're willing to work hard. It's a good combination," McCobb told the San Francisco (Rk+) News.
