The Johnson City Cardinals welcomed the Pulaski Yankees to an afternoon game at Howard Johnson Field.
Lee Chandler put on a pitching clinic, while helping the Johnson City Cardinals beat the Pulaski Yankees, 2-1. Matt Spiess was called on to finish, recording his 14th save.
Phil Oliveri aided the Johnson City cause with a run-scoring single in the bottom of the second. For the game, the third baseman went 1-2 with 2 walks.
"I just try to bring what I bring to this team," said Oliveri.
The win elevated the Cardinals to 45-24.
