Orioles, Sandoval Pin Bad Loss on Pirates
|
Riding the 2-hit performance of the 22-year old left fielder Danny Sandoval, the Baltimore (Rk+) Orioles defeated the Bristol Pirates, 10-0. Harold Dalton picked up the win with 7 innings of work. He allowed no runs on 5 hits, while walking 1 and striking out 6. On the season, he is now 2-0. Baltimore (Rk+) raised its record to 48-22 with the win.
Baltimore (Rk+) won the game in part because of Franklin Rincon. The left fielder ripped a solo home run in the top of the fourth inning to put the Orioles ahead, 1-0. For the game, Rincon had 1 double and 1 home run in 4 at-bats.
"We didn't help ourselves, it's as simple as that," said losing manager Yamada Tani.
